ART OF PRESERVATION

The Salish artist, Bonny Graham-Krulicki resides with her family on the West Coast of B.C. in the Fraser Valley community of Chilliwack, where her Stó:lõ ancestry dates back to the late 1800’s, a descendant of her great-grandmother (wife of William Prest) (Tata) Mary (Benn), [Schiatox], of the Skwah Reserve in Chilliwack, B.C.

Bonny was born in Hope, B.C., Canada and is a member of the Snuneymuxw First Nation of Nanaimo B.C., on Vancouver Island, where her mother, Ellen (Prest) Graham and grandmother Lavina (Wyse) Prest (Daughter of Chief Joe Wyse) were born. A descendant of the Wyse family; Bonny’s signature b. wyse, holds both traditional and inspirational meaning.

A graduate of the Graphic Arts and Communication Program (FVC), she has been a professional graphic artist for over 20 years, receiving recognition for her layout and designs on local, national and North American levels.

It is Bonny’s desire to preserve her aboriginal language through art; designed with an appreciation of the languages historical and spiritual significance.

The words of inspiration in the Halkomelem language are the artists original designs and presented in limited edition prints, cards, bookmarks and original canvasses.

Be inspired...
